Although IMHO a Lost Movie is a bad idea and one I'm pretty sure won't happen, it still does not stop a lot of rumblings and rumours about it.
Here is the latest from Sharon who was recently in Hawaii on the Kos Lost Tour and something in her report stood out as interesting. I have no reason to disbelieve her although it could just be a case of the security guard having some "fun" with the tourists :)
I was talking to a security guard at the beach camp (only kitchen standing and echo's church), he was saying that they have been asked to stay on after this season finishes as they will finish with a big cliff hanger and will follow up with a movie
So would you like to see a Lost Movie after it is over?

NO.I WON'T SEE A MOVIE.THAT WILL BE A TOTAL BS..HOPE DOESN'T COME TRUE
Only if it would redo the last two seasons.
of course that guard was just having some fan, Lindelof stated really clear that after the series finale EVERYTHING will be over.
EPIC FAIL - They wont do a film. Darlton would not have gone to all that trouble to get an END DATE for the series if they thought they would just end it all off with a movie. I would be disappointed, and worried it would go the way of the X Files movie, very non-finalising.
I would hope that the 815 story should be tied up at the end of this season, but I wouldn't be completely against a film that explored other aspects/history of the island, thou I would prefer it done as a book.
If they end this show on a cliffhanger, I think Darlton won't LIVE to make a movie. Lost fans would riot and I'm convinced some might get violent;) Remember how mad some people were at the end of the Sopranos? Well, if S6 ends with someone in peril, Darlton will have to leave the country like David Chase did. Because fan reaction would make the reaction to the last Sopranos look like a love fest.
NO MOVIE !!!!
No, I don't want any Cliffhanger at the end of LOST. I want a looped LOST - so you can begin with Season 1 after finishing Season 6.
BIG FAT HOAX! Label please. If it happens it won't involve the cast, creators, writers and so on. Why? Because they've stated dozens of times that it ain't gonna happen
A movie would not work for LOST. It has so much plot baggage, that simply doesn't stand a chance in the box office in front of random viewers who have never seen, or have abandoned in the past, LOST.
So this is a hoax, I am 100% sure.
BTW, this was already a big problem for "Serenity", the movie that was the continuation of the "Firefly" TV show. And Firefly had a VERY lite mythology and plot compared to LOST. And even then, new viewers couldn't get into the movie because they had no context, because they never watched the TV show. This situation intensifies 100x for LOST because of its complexity, so no, there won't be any movie.
well if it ends on a loop they could essentially just do the whole show again condensed into a 2 hour movie, as the next iteration of the loop. except in this version, everyone is very straightforward with the information they have, and don't lie. that seems like the only plausible scenario.
@Eugenia
Serenity was different, though. Firefly was cancelled before they could finish an entire season. The movie was the result of a lot of support from fans who believed it was wrongly cancelled.
I mean, I would hate for there to have to be a movie (Like Twin Peaks and X-Files), but I would go see it, being the super-fan that I am, and look on the bright side if there is a movie then all the good stuff like; cursing and nudity, and gratuitous violence, wouldn't have to be so censored! (Naked Island Chicks FTW!!!)
Ha ha! Seriously - like they would ask a SECURITY GUY now to stay on a bit longer and tell him about the film! They're secretive about so many things so I seriously doubt that one guard is so important to their work that they would let him in on it.
absolute and total BS. Sorry.
I would love to se a movie, perhaps an offshoot or spinoff of some sorts of season one. It could be done perfectly with some old and some new characters. I loved where season one was going but as the seasons came along I'm not too into the direction of the mysteries. In fact, we are finding out way too many mysteries...I never want this show to end.
and for the record, no, I would not like to see a LOST movie after its over. It would just feel like yet-another "star trek universe" tacked on movie that adds really nothing.
I think Bilbos Dragons works for ABC/Buena Vista :)
Sharon here who spoke to the security guard. Who knows if he was having us on but I thought it was such a random thing to say. I also would be hunting down Darlton as my patience would be at the ultimate test if I had to wait for a movie for completition. But I would have to see the movie or I would go crazy LOL!
I agree with Sharon/shazz. My patience for this story is very, very low. I would be entirely disappointed if they drag the ending into a movie to be released in 2012.
This Security guard is definately full of it! I would love the idea of it honestly. Im with Bilbos. I don't ever want the story to end entirely. I just love the characters and the mythology of the show too much. Stretching some big answers into a feature film just sounds like so much fun. My favorite part of Lost is the anticipation.
That being said, there are two big reasons why I think this guard is BS: 1, Nobody would tell a guard all of that information. The actors don't even know what is happening until they read the next episode's scrip! They might tell them they will be needed for extra time, but there is now reason that they would give an explanation such as this!; 2, If they were going to shoot a movie afterwards, they would not do it right after filming the final season.
As has been said by several others, Darlton won't actually survive long enough to make a movie if they end on a cliffhanger. I have spent the last six years breeding velociraptors to hunt them down and maul them in the streets if they do something like this.
IMO, like a lot of other people, I think a movie would ruin our LOST experience. What I WOULD like is, once all is said and done, a sequential version... kind of like an extra dvd in the "complete LOST box set" that puts everything in order. Not like a movie or the show - just clips and narrative that gives it all to you in order......
but, then again, we haven't seen the last season so that might not even be possible...
Hey Dark, maybe after season 6 is over you could start a "timeline" on here for everyone to add to - you and your super crew could edit it and make sure it's correct.... :o)~~
Like the majority have said, this is a horrible idea. This story needs to be wrapped up this season. They've promised the fans a definitive ending and so that's what they should give them. But in all honesty, I'm not even worried this might come true. Damon is a really smart guy and knows this isn't the route to take for this show. Hell, he just backed out of doing the Dark Tower series cause he didn't want to ruin one of his favorite stories.
But I do agree with what Sandi said. A book that covers a few things the show will not have time to cover extensively would be awesome. Like the history of the Black Rock (depending on how much is covered this season), Alvar Hanso, the complete history of the Others and the Island, etc.
I want a Frogurt musical!!! :D
In typical lost fashion the movie would likely have a 2 to 3 week intermission.
It wouldn't surprise me to see a made for TV movie being made for Lost after the series has finished to answer some non essential questions not addressed in season 6. It would make sense to do it right after the series had wrapped with the crew and materials still in Hawaii.
Hats off to the security guy -- he probably has a great pitch about Walt and Vincent.
It was always the plan from the start so it wouldnt suprise me , though they did say in July's Q&A in London that they would not continue the franchise after season 6 although Disney would be stupid not to with the premise being worth so much money.

O
I just don't understand how and why some of these lost fans are so eager for this series to end.
Yes a made for TV movie answering some of the craziest and most intriquing mysteries would be grand, perhaps exploring season one's epic lunacy. I'd even want to see a movie like I stated above. Perhaps a spinoff exploring the Island, etc.
WTF do people want this series to end so quickly for??!! Everything else on TV SUCKS ASS!
LOL. I was on a Lost tour with Hawaiian Escapades on Oct. 20 and must have talked to the same security guard at the beach camp. He offered to tell me the ending to Lost. I laughed. He said "Don't you believe me?"; so I told him go ahead and tell me and he told me the same thing as here. I didn't bother to share it for obvious reasons. I guess some people want to believe anything that means more Lost. (Not that it isn't possible, but there will be a lot of pissed fans if this were true since they are expecting an ending this year.) Well, he seemed to be a nice guy. Told me I missed Terry O'Quinn the day before who came to do some foreign press (I saw that stuff in the media section here) and the week before, they filmed Locke's funeral and Sayid, Claire and Sawyer were also filming at the beach camp the week before. Seemed like I was always missing stuff while I was there. The guard did try to film some sea turtles for me with my new camera. Didn't come out though.
I have just returned from the island 10 days agao and spent 3 days on set watching filming at the survivors beach camp, the crew & security on set are hit and miss, but the nice one's that did chat did say if everything isnt covered in season 6, that there will be a season 7 or a movie.... I heard this from 3 differant people, only 1 of these people was a security guard, the others were Lost behind the scenes people working on the set. I love LOST since it started and would love if it carried on for season 7 i wish it would never end!!!, I dont think a movie would be a good idea though! We were lucky enough to Meet Michael Emerson & Terry O Quinn on differant days and have our photo taken with them.We saw Ben, Locke, Myles, Lapidus, Sun, Ilana filming.
And Josh Holloway was on our hawaiian airlines flight from LAX to Honolulu on Oct 24th, we chatted to him for a few mins when we landed, he was waiting on the jetway for his babys buggy...aaawwhh
This had been confirmed like two or three years ago that Lost movie will never happen by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse. My word is not to Dark, but why do people still keep writing about this? Darlton 'wouldn't' keep the show with a movie, that's all.
Gokhan. Damon and Carlton do not own Lost, ABC/Disney do. If ABC decide to do a Lost movie they can, with or without Damon/Carlton.
I certainly hope they don't :)
It's certainly looking like a possible season seven or a movie in two years. Perfect! Who and why wants this series to end so prematurly? They've only stratched the surface of the Island mythology. These have got to be casual fans who want it to end. Trust me, if they end it forever this year, you will NOT like it. Just be patient for the movie...
I don't think there will be a movie either, but . . ABC/Disney IS a movie studio. To just up and let this property go . . . would seem a little short sighted.

And I'm sure before telling that they won't be making a movie, they had discussed this with ABC or Disney Studios - they said 'nothing' about the end of the show before they decided on it. After making a meeting with ABC, they agreed and told it.
And Lost without Damon and Carlton would be nothing, believe me. :) Again my word is not to you, but people like to write about it so it takes attention.
I've spoken with a few people who work on the set over the period of three weeks, and all of them told me there's talk of making a movie to finish off the show. I hope they were just yanking my chain because that would really really suck!
