Just had this through from one of my contacts, although the information does not come directly from him but via a friend of his. If it had come through direct I would have posted this as a spoiler as this guy is very reliable but as it is 3rd hand it's being posted here in rumours. I'm trying to find out a bit more. So basically your guess is as good as mine as to how valid this is.

It's not the actual age difference between the actors, it's the fact that Emilie de Raven has the look of a 17 year old and Josh Holloway looks about his age, which is about 40 if I'm not mistaken. Just picturing them in my mind is very disturbing and gross.

Well, maybe it's not true that Kate sees them, but Claire and Sawyer could very well make out together. The finale could still be a flashforward, and maybe even a CLaire/Sawyer Flashforward thet takes place on the island. So Claire is over Charlie and Sawyer has his needs... We dont know how far in time this kiss takes place.. SO maybe a flash-forward off-island kiss for Clawyer?

Also, I'd like to point out that Claire was never 100% into Charlie romantically. There were numerous "we're not married" conversations. I'm not saying they didn't love each other (and certainly the writers have bungled by not showing any mourning at all), but it's not like she'd be betraying a dead husband. Charlie and Claire only knew each other for three months.
Anyway, I agree this would take some clever maneuvering and this season's finale is a bit soon unless Claire and Sawyer spend every moment together until then. But I think there is potential (Sawyer sparks with any woman he comes in contact with! He's just that attractive!) and can't rule it out.

Claire didn't love Charlie they were just close friends. Kate is dicking with Sawyer's head so he might kiss Claire to deliberately annoy Kate. They get into a huge argument and Kate kisses Jack to piss off Sawyer and he tells her he doesn't care about her and tells her to go. She leaves with Aaron (whom Claire gave to her to look after) and as she's leaving rescue comes. When rescue comes Jack gets into the rescue boat/plane etc. And Kate has the choice to go with Jack or go with Sawyer. Still pissed off with Sawyer she goes with Jack.

The stupid comments about Kate only show me that they don't give a crap about her character and that's why she is such a badly written mess who continues to hover lots and lots of screen time. She's nothing more than the girl to them, just like Lana Lang on Smallville.

That is a flat out lie. The Claire/Sawyer rumour was brought to Lost-Forum's Skate threads by Misteriosa, who got it FROM Dark's site right here.

If you want to look for some possible troublemaker as the "source" of these Claire/Sawyer rumours, you might want to look closer to home. A complete stranger posted this same stuff to FBL (Skate forum) on April 11 under the name loopylou3. Given that this person had never posted a word before (or since) and that he/she arrived with a gallery of newly-registered members lurking to watch Skaters' reactions, both the post and poster were mocked and dismissed by Skaters, since the whole thing was believed to be a prank. If it's gone further than that, and it does turn out to be a prank, it certainly did NOT originate with Skaters. (And if this is of any interest to Dark, I'd be happy to get him the IP of loopylou3.)

I LOVE this show and even if I didn't love The Tailies and that part of the story I went along with it because it's a part of the show and I trust the writers. All i see is a childish, teen relationship. With a guy who uses the girl he apparently love for getting guns, who uses the fact that she commited crimes to keep her by his side, who has sex with some random girl a week before he has sex with his "love", i see Kate having sex with Sawyer because she is jealous of Jack and Juliet and staying apart from her "love" in season 4 just because of FREE WILL. She ran from Jack becuase she was confused, having visions and stuff, and their relationship is not that easy with all Kate's "good/bad" issues.

with all the shooting and death expected in this second half of the fourth season, nobodies really thinking clearly. with potential sawyer heroics during the barrack attacks, some guitar playing evoking at least among claire flashes of charlie and another intense encounter with danger, its definitely possible that they both kiss, and definitely possible that kate sees it, hopefully after burning another bridge with jack and en route to sawyer b/c its his turn to get used again.
They did say the kiss would only further complicate the triangle. This would certainly complicate the triangle. Kate is already competing with Juliet, why not throw Claire into the mix lol. I could see this as a spur of the moment type thing, but I don't see Sawyer and Claire falling for each other.

Firstly, that's not what you said. (See above comment and your original post.) Secondly, the person who said it's "not Jate" was Lyly, not just some Skater. She made NO MENTION of the Claire/Sawyer thing... and guess what? It could still be "not Jate" and have nothing to do with Claire at all. You're the one who put those two together and made it sound like Skaters were behind this rumour.

TPTB said Kate made her choice and so far that has not changed. It might be useful to remember the episode she made that choice in was titled "I Do". Lost takes great care with their episode titles so unless or until Kate consummates a sexual relationship with someone else, her choice remains Sawyer to whom she is 'married' per the title of the episode where they made love for the first (but not last time)and exchanged verbal and non verbal I love you declarations. The fact is that they are the only pairing on Lost to have come this far.
Anything can happen but so far nothing has to indicate Kate's choice has changed. They had a fight, so what, how many of you have fought and even broken up with your significant other? Damon and Carlton have clearly said they want to avoid the 'Moonlighting' effect; they will keep this couple apart and their relationship angsty in order to keep it fresh and dramatic. Kate chose Sawyer, there is no on screen evidence that she has changed her mind.
TPTB have said we can't trust what they or the actors say, only what we see and what we see is a passionate relationship between two flawed and damaged people who have a long way to go before they find a happy ending, if they ever do. In the meantime they are lovers (with all that implies) which is more than you can say for Jack and Kate, Jack and Juliet or even Desmond and Penny and their story has been spread across all four seasons of Lost.

Maybe Kate's first choice was made when she chose to stay in Jack's team, and leave the island without Sawyer. Free will as its best. Or maybe her first choice was to leave Sawyer at the beach to get Jack back, not knowing if she was going to live. A lot has happened and a lot can happen as you said, but your sayings are as canon as mine :D!
Give Claire a break people.... Its been multiple weeks since Charlie died, Claire has very recently been under attack when she presumably kisses Sawyer, so she might just be a bit emotional...

You DO know that this show is known for having episode titels that means more then one thing, right?
I still dont know if I believe in this rumor but didn't we see Kate starring up in the sky in the first promo after Meet Kevin Johnson and then see her and Jack running like crazy through the jungle?
If the scenes in the promo are about all episodes to come (like the promos before season 4 started) they may indicate that they see the explosions from Otherville and run to get there, only to come across Sawyer and Claire in the jungle. They might be kissing but I cant imagine it to be romantic.

As for when the kiss might happen, everyone is assuming it happens now, when it could just as easily happen in the future.
sanna, they some times mix old scenes with new ones, so the Jack/Kate scenes are probably old scenes. If you've seen the episode 10 promo pics, the beachies don't seem to suspect anything bad happened at the barracks, as they're all about worrying over Jack.

However, I think this rumor is a hoax: I seriously doubt that seeing Sawyer kissing Claire could be the reason why Kate doesn't want to come back to the island, to kidnap Aaron and to keep Aaron away from her mother! Please! Yes, every character has good and bad shades, but such a behaviour would turn Kate into a villain forever and I don't think this is what TPTB want to do.
I still hope that this isn't true because if it were, Kate would be the most pathetic person ever. "I won't go back to the island because my beau pissed me off.
