Thanks to DarkUFO reader DeLaRox for the following.
A friend of a friend of mine was an extra in the Christian Shepherd funeral scene shot recently.
According to her, a letter is read out during the funeral, written by Christian before he died. It mentions Claire and Jack. More shockingly, though, it talks of Christian's guilt over being involved with Widmore and Mittelwerk.
Roll on the next few episodes..!

ooooh, sounds interesting! so if christian is feeling guilty about it, then then confirms that widmore is bad right? cos i always thought that was open to interpretatio til now. :)
If it holds true, I CALLED this one over a year ago! Remain convinced that it wasn't just ANY patient Christian killed with his negligence when operating under the influence, putting Claire under Ben's microscope (the actor who played her reluctant boyfriend Thomas, it has been previously noted, bears a remarkable resemblance to Michael Emerson and thus the character is likely related to Ben) - and a suspicion is growing that Ben had actually worked with Widmore in the past but they may have had a massive falling out over what would happen to the island, which is why the Freighties are pursuing him so hotly now.....
Hope this one is true!
But why would he say Mittlewerk? If you're one of Lost's fans who doesnt look up stuff about the show online, you wouldn't have a clue who he is.
It sounds true. I've always thought Christian had some connection to the island, through DHARMA or sth so this is quite close. Only time will tell though.
I think part of this could be true.
I'm sure that Jack learns Claire is his half-sister and he left her/didn't protect her and she died.
I think that would start Jack's slide into despair.
Christian is an important part of the puzzle. Having his two children and grandson crash on the island has to make sense.
I know this doesn´t really belong here, but I can´t get it out of my head.
Just imagine a relation between Sawyer and Claire - then Jack would be his brother in law! And ifthe dreams of all jaters come true and Jack it with Kate ...LMAO
kmarg, that's why I thought they were going to do Sawyer/Claire even before the rumor came up. There's just a lot more story potential than Juliet in the quadrangle. Add the Aaron factor and it's one big mess.
Wow. This is the most significant letter in television history!!!
Sounds like the work of a fanboy but it would make a killer scene for sure :)
I'm inclined to think this is fake, simply because I don't believe Mittelwerk will ever be mentioned on the show. Mittelwerk is an ARG character who was not created by the main writers, and having his name come up like this would just confuse and annoy fans who didn't play the ARGs.
I say Christian has something to do with widmore and the island.....
I call BS.
TimmyTheGreek is right, My entire LOST group has never missed an episode and are huge fans, but they have NO IDEA who Mittlewerk is. 90% of the audience doesn't know Mittlewerk since he's not a Cannon character.
Also, I just don't image them reading his regrets of his life (possibly impying he did BAD things) at a funeral.
MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!!
Here's the whole Christian Shepard scenario for you all (which Damon and Carlton told me a few days ago*)
...
Christian Shepard had some sort of "episode" at some point in his life, between the time Jack met Sarah, and his alchoholic period. At some point he was exposed to a large amount of magnetic energy. Afterwards he remembers "waking up" one day in the middle of a jungle with only one white tennis shoe on and next to an empty coffin. He observes that there has been a plane crash on this island, also. He has loads of fantastic island adventures, and observed some interesting characters including a man named "Saywer", a woman called "Ana Lucia" (who used to be a cop) and also coincidentaly, his Son, Jack, and Daughter, Claire. He tries to talk to his son, but realises he can't speak because of the magnetic thing, Christian also finds a strange old cabin, and sits down in it for a little while, until a fat man approaches through the window and screams.
Suddenly Christian Shepard wakes up, back in his study in Los Angeles...."What a strange dream" He thinks to himself...He later finds out through a bit of research that his conciousness had actually been transported through time into some undertermined point in the future, and it wasn't actually a dream at all!! OMG!!!!
Christian realises that he can't change the future, so somehow "arranges" for both his Son and Daughter, to be on that plane (he runs off to sydney hoping his son would follow, and he bribes Claires boyfriend Thomas to walk away, and a psychic called Richard Malkin to get her on the plane.
Prior to that, he tracks down the cop-woman "Ana Lucia" and cons her into coming along as well, by claiming he needs a bodyguard, and also finds the man "Sawyer" and leads him along a path that'll eventually lead him to the "island".
All is well and good, but Christian realises he will have to be on the island to, as he was obviously there in the future for his conciousness to teleport there. He has a few drinks while he plucks up the courage to catch the plane. And then he dies..!
But his body ends up on the island anyway...
...and then it wakes up...
THE END
*Possibly not true.
@webbsta
Hahahahahah - I love it!
Christian Shephard is still alive at this point..I love that character
I really doubt the Thomas Mittelwerk character from TLE ever gets introduced into the show, even in passing.
I could be wrong, but I just don't see a major villain entering the show at this point, even in a eulogy.
The rest may hold up, but that part just sounds wrong.
Also, why would they have waited so long to have a funeral for Christian and to hear his last will and testament? Jack's mom must have learned about Christian's death soon after the crash, and I'd imagine the memorial service, the hearing of the will, and all of that happened not long afterward. I mean, what would've been the hold-up? Jack was presumed dead as well at that point, so they wouldn't have been waiting for him, and I doubt they were holding out any hope of finding Christian's body.
It would be insane if this turned out to be true!!
We know this is a hoax now.
this was kinda true.
There was a funeral scene in the finale...
